The Butcher Bird

I enjoyed this very much, although I like historical fiction, I do not normally read too much before the Restoration period so this was a departure for me. The story was good, not far-fetched, and well thought-out. It certainly held your interest and there were a few, nicely planned twists which were believable. The medieval setting was well-realised but not overdone and the Oswald, the main character, despite his youth was convincing. An all-round, decent read.
